Governor Abbott has declared a state of disaster for 30 Texas counties in advance of the category 3 Hurricane Harvey making landfall. Rainfall totals and wind speeds are expected to reach catastrophic levels. All residents in the path of the storm are advised to stay informed and take action as necessary. Please refer to local media and Red Cross websites to ensure the immediate safety of you and your family. The last storm of this magnitude to the Corpus Christi area was in 1970 and caused major damage to 90 percent of businesses and 70 percent of homes. While we are all praying for the best, this storm is not to be taken lightly... so, please be safe.
